The perfect gift? Ah! A question with perhaps an endless amount of answers.  Yet, there are times where an answer seems to remain ever elusive. Let's start with the basics, gather our information, and formulate our best idea.      First off, what is a gift? An old Funk & Wagnall's gives a legal description of a gift as "A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property, made without consideration." Simple, and without much feeling. Webster's gives some heart to it by adding, "... as to honor a person or an occasion, or to provide assistance; present."      Where did gift giving come from? I believe it's safe ......... ...
